"Fee-free" means LocalsRide takes nothing. stripe’s processing fee applies — that's the card network's cut, not ours. The same fee you'd pay accepting any card payment anywhere.

Questions drivers ask

Before you apply.

Am I a fit for LocalsRide?
Most likely yes if you’re a professional driver with a sedan or better, can wait 24 hours for jobs, and speak intermediate English. Less likely if you drive 25+ rides a day for ride-hail, need same-hour work, or your vehicle is 12+ years old. We approve manually, about 7 in 10 applications make it through.
Do I need a commercial license?
You need a commercial license in accordance with your country laws, plus commercial auto insurance. We check this during application: you upload your license in Step 02. If you don't yet have what's required, we'll tell you what to apply for and you can come back.
What are the car requirements?
From economy to Buses. Clean interior, working A/C. We verify with the photos you upload in Step 03.
Can I work part-time?
Yes. There's no minimum hours, no quota, no shift requirement. Drivers do anywhere from 2 rides a week to 25. Your zone and availability are yours to set.
What if a ride is cancelled by the rider?
If cancelled > 48 hours before pickup: no charge to either side. If cancelled within 48 hours: you get 30% of the fare. If you already started your way to the passenger you get 70% of the fare.
How does rider rating work?
Riders rate you 1–5 stars after each ride. Your rolling 33-day average is what riders see when choosing offers. Low rating may cause higher commission.
Can I work in multiple cities?
Yes. You can register as many operating zones as you wish.
What about taxes, do you issue 1099s?
Yes. stripeConnect generates your 1099-K automatically each January. You download it from your driver dashboard. You're responsible for filing; we don't withhold.
What insurance does LocalsRide provide vs what I need myself?
You need: commercial auto insurance for your vehicle in accordance with you country (or state) law.
How do I get paid if I don’t have a Stripe account?
We set you up during onboarding. Your stripeConnect account is created in Step 01, takes ~6 minutes. No pre-existing account needed: just a bank account that supports ACH transfers.
