Amman Queen Alia Airport Transfer (AMM)
Queen Alia International Airport (IATA: AMM) is Jordan's primary hub, 35 kilometres south of Amman, handling 10+ million passengers annually. It serves as the main entry point for Jordan's tourism sector — Petra, the Dead Sea, Wadi Rum, and Jerash are all accessed via Amman. Two terminals share the same campus. Unofficial taxi offers are active at arrivals; the legitimate metered taxi rank is outside. A LocalsRide transfer gives you a confirmed driver inside the arrivals hall before you reach any exit where these offers occur.
Transfer Time from AMM
Central Amman (Abdali, 4th Circle): 35–50 minutes via Airport Highway. Rainbow Street and Jabal Amman: 40–55 minutes. Dead Sea resorts (Marriott, Kempinski area): 50–65 minutes northwest via Route 65. Jerash: 70 kilometres north (55–70 minutes). Madaba: 25–35 minutes. Petra (Wadi Musa): 255 kilometres south (2.5–3 hours). Wadi Rum: 300 kilometres south (3–3.5 hours).
AMM Terminal Guide
Terminal 1 handles Royal Jordanian and most international carriers. Terminal 2 handles some budget and charter operations. Both share the same arrivals building. After customs, proceed to the main arrivals hall — your driver will be in the designated meeting area with your name sign before the taxi rank exit.
