Getting from Linate to Milan

Since 2022 the M4 metro has run from Linate into central Milan, reaching San Babila in about 15 minutes, which is the quickest public option the airport has had; bus 73 also serves San Babila. Linate is only 7 km out, so a private transfer is 15 to 25 minutes door to door, and it remains useful late at night once the metro has stopped.

Pickup at Linate: what to expect

Linate is Milan's compact city airport: one terminal, one arrivals exit, and your driver standing at it with a name board. On a drive this short, most passengers reach their hotel before a queue at a larger airport would have cleared.

Which Milan airport are you flying into?

Milan has three airports and they are nowhere near each other. Linate is 7 km from the centre and mostly serves domestic and short European routes; Malpensa is the intercontinental hub 50 km northwest; Bergamo is the low-cost base 50 km northeast. If your trip lands at one and departs from another, a direct inter-airport transfer takes 50 to 70 minutes at a fixed price, which is far simpler than the two-leg public connection through the city.

Beyond central Milan
