Private Airport Transfers in Rome
Rome has two main airports: Fiumicino (FCO) for international flights and Ciampino (CIA) for low-cost carriers. Both are covered, and in both your driver waits in arrivals with a fixed price and a name sign, whether you have flown in from New York or Lisbon. From there it is a direct run to your hotel, apartment or venue anywhere in the city.
How do you get from Rome airport to the city?

Why not take the train or a taxi?
The Leonardo Express from Fiumicino is affordable and awkward with luggage, and it stops at a station rather than your hotel. Taxis are metered, which makes the fare a function of Roman traffic. A booked transfer fixes the price before you land, puts the driver in arrivals, and goes directly to the address you gave, with no connection in between.

Rome's ZTL zones and your hotel
Much of central Rome, the centro storico, Trastevere and Monti, sits inside ZTL restricted-traffic zones where unauthorised cars are fined by camera. Licensed private-hire vehicles are permitted, which is why a pre-booked transfer can stop at the door of hotels that rental cars and rideshares have to skirt around. If your hotel is on a cobbled lane near the Pantheon, that is the difference between arriving at reception and dragging luggage the last 600 metres.
Termini and Tiburtina: train station pickups
Arriving in Rome by rail works the same way. Drivers meet passengers at Roma Termini and Roma Tiburtina exactly as at the airport: name board, help with luggage, fixed price to any address in the city or beyond. High-speed trains from Florence and Naples arrive into the middle of Termini's crowds, and having a named driver at the platform end takes the scramble out of it.
Day trips and onward journeys at a fixed price
The same model covers journeys out of the city: Civitavecchia cruise port in about 90 minutes, Tivoli and Hadrian's Villa in about 45, Castel Gandolfo and the Castelli Romani within the hour, and one-way intercity rides to Florence or Naples for travellers who would rather skip the station altogether. Which airport will you actually land at?
The airline decides rather than you. Legacy and long-haul carriers use Fiumicino; Ryanair, easyJet and Wizz Air use Ciampino. The practical consequence is the ground leg: Ciampino is half the distance and typically 10 to 15 minutes quicker door to door, while Fiumicino has the rail link Ciampino lacks.
