Orlando Airport Transfer — MCO
Orlando International Airport (MCO) is the busiest airport in Florida, with more than 57 million passengers in 2025, most of them on holiday. It sits 21 km southeast of downtown Orlando, though most visitors head straight for the Disney and Universal resorts, International Drive or Port Canaveral, 20 to 75 km away by toll expressway.
A LocalsRide transfer has a driver waiting for you when you land, at a price fixed when you book. Each offer shows the languages your driver speaks.
Transfers start from $50, fixed price, confirmed at booking. No meter, no hidden fees, no surge pricing.
Transfer time and distance
- Downtown Orlando: 21 km, approximately 20 to 40 minutes
- International Drive and the Orange County Convention Center: 23 km, approximately 10 to 30 minutes
- Universal Orlando and Epic Universe: 20 to 24 km, approximately 10 to 30 minutes
- Kissimmee: 24 km, approximately 20 to 65 minutes
- Disney Springs and Lake Buena Vista: 30 km, approximately 20 to 40 minutes
- Magic Kingdom area resorts: 38 km, approximately 25 to 45 minutes
- Port Canaveral cruise terminals: 74 km, approximately 40 to 60 minutes
The quick routes use the SR 528 Beachline and SR 417 toll expressways, and the tolls are included in your fixed price. That matters more here than at most airports, because almost every useful road out of MCO has a toll on it.
Where your driver meets you
MCO is strict about where pre-booked cars may stop. They pick up on Level 1, the ground transportation level under Terminals A, B and C, and never at the departures curb.
If you ask for a name sign, each offer shows whether the driver will meet you with one in the airport's designated meet and greet area in baggage claim; if not, you agree a pick-up point with the driver in the LocalsRide chat. Right after you book, you get the driver's name and phone number and the car's details, including the plate.
Arriving from abroad in Terminal C
Terminal C opened in 2022 and takes most international flights, among them British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Aer Lingus, Emirates and Icelandair, plus JetBlue. It runs a "Bags First" process: you collect your suitcases before passport control, so once you clear immigration you can walk straight out to your driver.
Terminals A and B, used by most US airlines, are linked to Terminal C by a people mover of about four minutes. Check which terminal your airline uses before you agree the meeting point, and remember that immigration queues vary: the first 60 minutes of waiting from your booked pickup time are free.
What does the alternative cost?
Taxis at MCO run on the meter only. The airport's own estimates put a cab to International Drive or downtown at $38 to $45, to the Disney resorts at $52 to $68 and to Port Canaveral at around $115, and ride-hailing prices climb whenever demand does, which in Orlando means every school holiday.
The cheaper options are shared. LYNX buses leave from Terminal A at $2 a ride, and route 311 reaches Universal, Epic Universe and Disney Springs every 30 minutes with stops on the way. Mears Connect runs shared shuttles to the Disney-area resorts at $16 per person aged 10 and over plus a fuel surcharge, so a family pays for every seat and waits for the other hotels on the route.
Why book a private transfer from MCO?
- One price for the car, not per seat, which suits families with park luggage and strollers
- Tolls included on the expressways that every quick route uses
- 60 minutes of free waiting from your booked pickup time, useful when the immigration queue is long
- Name sign on request. Each offer shows whether the driver will meet you with it in baggage claim
- Child seats can be requested at booking
- 24/7 service, including late-evening arrivals
Holiday peaks and cruise days
MCO handled more than 7.4 million passengers over the spring break period of 2026, with about 212,000 on its busiest day. School holidays, Christmas and the big conventions on International Drive fill the roads and push ride-hailing prices up at the same time.
Port Canaveral, the busiest cruise port in the world, adds its own wave on sailing days. A price agreed when you book stays the same on those days.
What vehicle should you book?
- Sedan, up to 4 passengers, for couples and smaller families
- Minivan, up to 8 passengers, for families with park and cruise luggage
- Minibus, up to 15 passengers, for groups travelling together
