Private Airport Transfers in Orlando

Private Airport Transfers in Orlando

Most people who fly into Orlando are not staying in Orlando proper. They are heading for the Disney resorts in Lake Buena Vista, the hotels on International Drive, a vacation rental in Kissimmee or a cruise ship at Port Canaveral, and there is very little rail between any of them.

Almost every visitor arrives through Orlando International Airport (MCO), 21 km southeast of downtown. A private transfer takes you from there to your door, and between parks and hotels during your stay, at a price fixed when you book. Each offer shows the languages your driver speaks.

Transfers start from $50, fixed price, confirmed at booking. No meter, no hidden fees, no surge pricing.

Where do visitors stay, and how far is it?

  • Disney resorts and Lake Buena Vista: 30 to 38 km from MCO depending on the resort, with Disney Springs the nearest
  • International Drive: 23 km from MCO, a long strip of hotels around the Orange County Convention Center
  • Universal Orlando and Epic Universe: Universal is about 24 km from MCO; Epic Universe, open since May 2025, is about 20 km from MCO and 6 km from the original Universal parks
  • Kissimmee and Celebration: 24 to 33 km from MCO, where many families rent vacation homes
  • Downtown Orlando and Winter Park: 21 and 26 km from MCO, for business trips and a quieter stay

Outside the peaks, the expressway gets you to most of these areas in about half an hour. The slow part is the last kilometre: resort gates, vacation communities and hotel entrances that a driver with your exact address finds faster than a map pin.

Getting between the parks

Orlando's theme parks are spread out. Magic Kingdom and Universal are about 23 km apart by road, and Disney Springs is about 17 km from Universal, so a Disney stay with a day at the other company's parks means a drive each way.

Disney's free airport coach, Magical Express, stopped running in 2022. A transfer can be booked for any trip from one address to another, not only from the airport: a morning run from a Kissimmee rental to Epic Universe, or a hotel change halfway through the week with all the luggage in one car.

Cruise departures from Port Canaveral

Port Canaveral is 74 km east of MCO along the SR 528 Beachline, and it is the busiest cruise port in the world by passenger numbers. Many visitors pair a few park days with a cruise, which makes the hotel to port run one of the most common trips in the area.

Sailing days put thousands of passengers on the same road within a few hours. A price agreed in advance does not change on those mornings, and one car takes the whole party and its luggage to the terminal.

Busy weeks

Orlando had a record 76.7 million visitors in 2025, and the peaks are predictable. Spring break brings more than 200,000 passengers through MCO on its busiest days, then come the Christmas holidays and the convention weeks at the Orange County Convention Center, which hosts more than 100 conventions a year, among them the IAAPA Expo in November and the PGA Show in January.

Hurricane season runs from June to the end of November, and a major storm can close the airport for a day or two, as Hurricane Milton did in October 2024. Your driver comes for the pickup time you booked; if your flight moves, message them in the LocalsRide chat.

Day trips and onward travel

  • Cocoa Beach, 78 km from MCO, on the Atlantic coast next to Port Canaveral
  • Daytona Beach, 114 km from MCO, for the speedway and the beach
  • Tampa, 138 km from MCO along I-4, for a Gulf Coast leg of the trip

The same fixed-price service runs between cities across the United States.
